Even more samples!

Previously I posted images of my final samples, and last week I managed to finish the final 3, two being made with felt with free-hand embroidery on and the other one being reverse applique with weave underneath. All these three samples are a different colour palette, matching a weave I had done in my sketchbook based on Hundertwasser, all contrasting my first colour palette. Personally I much prefer this colour palette as it’s more gender neutral and not so ‘in your face’ bright. So hopefully after I finish toiling I can pin them on and see what they will look like on my garments.

Luxury knitwear label Leutton Postle is comprised of long‐time friends and collaborators Sam Leutton and Jenny Postle. The pair met at Central Saint Martins in 2005 on their BA.

Leutton Postle draws on a range of influences to create wearable, craft-led collections that are unlimited by trends. Their design approach freely embraces colour, unusual surface texture and rich pattern to create beautifully offbeat knits for women. Leutton Postle represents a labour of love and a shared creative vision that can be seen in the extraordinary attention to detail in each garment.

Launching at London Fashion Week in September 2011, the label showcased their collections through Fashion Scout after winning the much-coveted Merit Award sponsorship for SS12.  For AW13 the label showcased their first film at Somerset House during London Fashion Week, as part of the BFC’s Fash/OnFilm initiative.

Who are we?!

Who are we?!

After some group research into our idea and motives for our brand, we came across an interesting name idea, which is pakarin.

It comes from the Inca word Pakarin meaning ‘Tomorrow’. The Inca Empire was a vast and powerful empire that conquered a huge area of South America. They were forward thinking and empowering, but were invaded by the Spanish after many years of ruling. The empire quickly died out, a future that may not be dissimilar to ours if we don’t start to change the way we consume. The way you pronounce pakarin is paq-a-ran, which we found worked better written down than pakarin.

So welcome to PAQ-A-RAN!
